These terms and conditions regulate car hire with Alternativ Assistanse/Alas Rent a Car.
By hiring a car from Alternativ Assistanse, you agree to abide by these terms.

General terms and conditions

The tenant must present a valid driver's licence when signing the rental agreement.

Free kilometres apply.

Dogs, pets or smoking are not allowed in the rental car.

In the event of a defect in the rental car, the rental agreement will terminate immediately from the reported date of damage.

Payment for rental period

Rental is paid in advance via the company's booking system or payment services.
If the rental car is cancelled up to 24 hours before the start of the rental, 50 % of the rental amount will be refunded.

Delivery of rental car

The rental car will be made available at the lessor's address from the agreed time of collection. If the rental car is not collected within 8 hours of being made available, the lessor may terminate the agreement with immediate effect if no contact is made with the lessee. The lessor is entitled to the rent stipulated in the contract.

If the rental car has been agreed to be delivered at a location other than the lessor's address, the first paragraph applies with a pick-up time of 3 hours.

When the rental object is handed over, it must be in working order, with sufficient battery capacity.

The lessee carries out a reception inspection of the rental car together with the lessor or the lessor's representative before the car is taken into use. Any deviations, damage or remarks are documented in writing and with photos by both parties. Damage that occurs during the rental period will be charged to the lessee.

Return of the rental car

The lessee is obliged to return the rental car to the lessor's address, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The rental car must be in the same condition as when it was delivered and have the same battery capacity as when it was delivered. If the battery capacity is lower than at the time of delivery, the lessee will be charged a fee of NOK 300.
If the rental car is returned later than agreed, this may result in additional costs.

Invoicing

The tenant will be charged for toll passes, ferry tickets, car parks, etc. This will be invoiced retrospectively. A deductible in the event of damage will also be invoiced retrospectively.

Insurances

The landlord has taken out accident, fire and liability insurance. In the event of damage covered by the insurance, the tenant will be charged a deductible of up to NOK 15,000. Other damage caused by gross negligence, intoxication or similar, which the insurance does not cover, will be charged to the tenant in full.

In the event of damage, roadside assistance or faults on the vehicle, the lessee must immediately notify the rental company.
